Black Lives matter

We do live in a beautiful world... The oceans, forests, cities, and country areas are all magnificent sites to see; what we have failed to understand is that we all share these things. We share the same moon and sun. At night, we all look up and see the same stars, and while we may be located on different parts of the planet, we all share the same soil and bleed the same color. We all came from the same place, and we are all going to the same place.
Throughout the past eighteen years, I have consistently and continuously seen humanity at its very worst— terror attacks, leaving thousands dead and families left to deal with the pain, mass shootings that have killed people of all ages. I have seen environmental disasters that have destroyed communities, and I have seen women be ridiculed for coming forward on their sexual assault stories. I have witnessed the horrific effects of racism on people of color. I have seen the very worst of humanity, but I have also witnessed humankind at its very best. Every time something terrible has occurred on the Earth we share, people come together extraordinarily. Yes, there are still those who choose not to be apart of the community trying to make a difference, but the good people always outweigh the bad. The light will always defeat darkness. But for it to do so, we have to wake up, speak up, stand up for what we believe in. Being someone who is of middle eastern background, I have experienced racism, but NEVER to the extent to which my black brothers and sisters have. I acknowledge this, and while I probably won’t ever understand exactly the pain they are going through, they are still my fellow human beings, and for that reason, I will always stand by them. As I’ve said multiple times, we are stronger when we are united than when we are divided. When we are silent about issues that matter, we are ultimately choosing the side of those causing the problem in the first place. Stand for something, or you will fall for nothing. What you stand up for says a tremendous amount about you as a person. Black lives matter, and right now, we need to stand up for peace, kindness, and equality above all. We need to stand in solidarity with our black brothers and sisters. I believe in the good of humankind. I know there are bad people, but I know for every evil person on this Earth, there are hundreds more who are good in spirit and soul; believe in the power they hold in their hearts. Together we will hold the ill-hearted accountable.
